A lot of professional photographers in Ohio don’t have a studio, so it’s pretty understandable why they would wish winter would hurry up. It’s cold here! I’m still eager for the weather to warm up, but not because I don’t have a studio (I do!), it’s just because I really have been craving a fresh DIY floral crown! Seriously, the previous owners of our property were very skilled in gardening and we are very blessed to enjoy the fruits of their labor. From early spring, to late fall, there is always something blooming! This has been such a blessing. As winter has gone this year, with the temperatures being all crazy, we’ve seen flowers growing on and off all winter! (We even have some under snow right now.) I’m getting a little bit worried if we’ll lose any to the craziness, but I have to say that it’s been such a tease! I have several maternity portrait sessions coming up that I know would be perfect for a floral crown or even a floral fascinator, but I suppose that I’ll have to try my hand and making one from flowers that aren’t fresh. Wish me luck!
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with Mrs. R’s beautiful high key maternity portraits, complete with my first-ever floral crown. I made her head piece about 5 minutes before she arrived and had no idea if it would turn out or not, but I think it’s pretty awesome for the amount of time I had to work with!
