My back up birth photographer, who I have come to love as one of my dearest friends, is PREGNANT! You know what that means for me, right? (Insert ridiculously happy grin here!) Rachel and I have been working on a special project, which I will share after the birth of her newest baby, but the other day we were able to get together for a few very quick maternity portraits. Due to time restraints, they may or may not be award-winning, but Rachel is so beautiful so I can’t help but love these images. I hope she does, too!
The gown she is wearing is a DIY tutu that I made specifically for maternity portraits and women’s portraiture. This gown is quickly making itself worth it’s weight in gold and I’m ready to start making them for custom sessions! The shirt…. well, you wouldn’t believe me anyway, so I’ll keep that one to myself! We’ll just say it was meant to be that her rockin’ awesome baby belly fit it perfectly!
Rachel, I just want to say thank you for being YOU. I thank God for bringing you into my life, not only as my back up Birth Photographer, but as a friend. You’re an answer to all kinds of prayers, wrapped up into one glorious, beautiful gift. Thank you for sharing your pregnancy journey with me. I can’t wait to walk by your side during your birth and I hope my gift to you is everything you hope for. Many prayers for exactly what you need and hope for. (Including the perfect name for that precious baby.) 😉 Sorry, sorry, I have to pick on you when I can. It’s not that easy to find things to poke fun at you for. 😉
I hope you enjoy these maternity portraits as much as I enjoyed creating them. (By the way, I’ll be super sad when we don’t get to gather for these fun maternity sessions anymore… so bring on the baby sessions!)
A little artistic portrait for my friend, the photographer. Because photographers can’t have just plain ol’ photos, right?
