NW Ohio Maternity Photographer {Princess and the Pea Pregnancy Announcement.}

Maternity photos are possibly one of my favorite things to photograph.  Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing like birth photography or even watching a baby hit all the milestones the first year.  But baby belly photos just are so beautiful!  I get to really be a portrait artist, be creative, show the natural beauty of pregnancy,  all while adding my own personal touch.   So… you can probably understand why I was thrilled when Rachel committed to documenting her pregnancy with a Baby Belly Progression Session!  These sessions document the pregnancy with a monthly (or weekly) photo shoot, and after the baby is born, we have a brilliant art piece.

Rachel is also a photographer, so it’s only natural that we like to have a good time in the studio together.   At the end of one of our photo sessions, we decided to play around a little bit and do a little pregnancy announcement.  The gown she’s wearing makes her look like a princess, so I thought it would be fun to do a “Princess and the Pea” theme.   It might be a little cheesy, but for a last minute, just-for-fun type of thing, I kind of enjoy it.

It doesn’t even show her baby belly, but she’s glowing. One of my favorite maternity photos ever.

Oh, and about that gown…  I made that!  (Totally bragging on myself, yes, yes, I am…)  The best part about all that hand stitching was having my husband model it while I designed!  Hilarious!   He would be a bit too embarrassed if I shared the picture of him wearing it, and I’m sure Rachel’s image does it more justice, so we’ll just leave it at that. 😉

The Princess and the Pea pregnancy announcement. She’s just too cute. Will her pea be a prince or princess? Wait and see..
