Momma G. and her miracles {Toledo Breastfeeding Photographer, Toledo Maternity Photographer}

Every once in a while, you get a call that makes you choke up a little bit.  I had one of those last summer.  A friend of a friend was asking if I could help a momma in need.  Of course!   We talked a little bit more and I found out that Momma G. was about half way through her pregnancy and just found out that baby had some issues.  They didn’t know much, but they did tell her that baby may not make it.  There were a lot of prayers involved and everyone remained positive and hopeful.

Momma G. was breastfeeding, and the doctors told her she was going to need to stop, in hopes that it would help her baby in utero grow stronger.  As a breastfeeding mother myself, I can understand the burden she carried.  Weaning because you have to- not because you want to– is so hard.    She really wanted to schedule breastfeeding photos with her son before he was weaned, so that she could remember that bonding time.  She also wanted to get maternity photos done, since no one knew what the next few days, weeks, or months would look like.   She had also never had maternity photos taken, so these would be the only ones that captured her with a baby belly.

We got together as soon as possible and were blessed with beautiful weather.   It was my favorite time of year- when the wildflowers in the field are in bloom.   We had a good time outside and then ventured in to the studio to get some intimate pregnancy portraits.   I love to play with studio light, and Momma G. is so confident and beautiful… clearly this creates a beautiful studio session!

So, I’m sure you’re wondering how everyone is doing, now that it is several months down the road.   Baby BOY was born a preemie and spent some time in the NICU.  He was born unbelievably tiny, but fast forward to now and he’s a darling 10 pounder!  God’s miracles never cease to amaze me.  This momma, and her baby, they are a true inspiration and they are fighters!   Hopefully we’ll even get a chance to do a breastfeeding portrait session of their own this spring!
